Big Sky Resort

Big Sky was purchased in 1976 by Everett Kircher, from the late Chet Huntley who first opened the area for skiing in 1973. The resort is located in Montana's southwest corner in Madison County just 18 miles north of Yellowstone National Park and 43 miles south of Bozeman's Gallatin Field on US Highway 191. Offering year-round entertainment for families and adventurists alike, Big Sky is also recognized as a premier convention destination and for its continuing real estate development. A tram that takes skiers to 11,150 feet gives Big Sky one of the largest total vertical drops in the nation and with access to nearby Moonlight Basin terrain with the Biggest Skiing in America Pass, visitors can enjoy over 5,500 acresof terrain.
